Bernd Humke joined the management of internetstores in 2013. He heads up the sectors of Group finances, Personnel, and Logistics. Bernd has a very impressive record of long years of management experience and expertise in e-commerce. He has already held managerial and supervisory board positions in a number of rapidly growing companies, working in these roles in South and North America. A graduate in both law and business studies, he was previously Group CFO and Managing Director of Europe’s leading e-commerce partner for the fashion and lifestyle sectors.

Christian Bubenheim has been CEO of internetstores since 1 June 2018. Mr. Bubenheim is one of the most internationally well-known and respected German E-commerce manager, and he has long years of experience in the fields of Buy & Build, the successful acquisition and integration of online businesses. As member of the executive team since 2015, Bubenheim was most recently with Scout24 AG for the company’s stock market launch, responsible for AutoScout24 business. He had earlier (2008 – 2014) worked for six years at Amazon in the Prime and Consumables sectors. Before (2003 – 2008) the qualified industrial engineer worked for five years as General Manager for the worldwide consumer product division and product marketing at Thales Navigation/Magellan Navigation, a global leader in the manufacture of GPS equipment. The German-American dual national laid the foundations of his career in the computer industry where, since 1991, Mr. Bubenheim has held various management posts at Apple, Compaq and Intel.

The acquisition by SIGNA Retail combined internetstores’ international position and online expertise with SIGNA Retail’s comprehensive retail expertise. internetstores shall maintain its autonomy and shall also act within SIGNA Retail as a technology expert and a technology hub in the multi-channel sector. By linking the various online and offline competences and channels, both partners commit themselves to a rapid development on both sides in the future.

Europe’s leading bike and outdoor e-commerce company has been growing profitably since its foundation in 2003 by René Köhler. After the investment company, EQT Expansion Capital II, joined in 2012, the profitability of the company continued to improve while growth was strong. The company opened shops in seven new countries and acquired and successfully integrated Addnature, the Swedish market leader in the outdoor e-commerce sector.

René Köhler shall continue to be involved in the company as Chairman of the Advisory Board. Christian Bubenheim has taken over as CEO on 1 June 2018, taking the lead into the next phase of growth at internetstores.
