The project BEL & MAIN Vienna stands out due to its striking, well-connected location within the "Vienna Central Railway Station" project, which is an important urban development project in the middle of the up-and-coming district "Quartier Belvedere". The new emerging city district "Quartier Belvedere" is directly adjacent to the large recreation areas of the Swiss Garden, Botanical Garden and Belvedere Garden and to the 3rd and 4th districts of Vienna.
A mixed-use building complex consisting of four buildings – two high-rise residential buildings, an office building and a hotel – with gross floor space of around 64,000 m² is being constructed on a site of around 11,000 m². There will also be an underground car park with approximately 400 parking spaces. Completion is scheduled for Q4/2020.
The BEL & MAIN Vienna project is the result of an invited competition held in mid-2015, with the winning entry submitted by the renowned architecture firm Delugan Meissl Associated Architects. On the basis of this urban development concept, one of the high-rise residential buildings from the competition entry by the internationally renowned architecture firm Coop-Himmelb(l)au was integrated to create a coherent overall ensemble – taking into account the jury’s recommendation.
As one of the most important public transport hubs, the main train station is within walking distance and has excellent connections to Vienna’s public transport network with its trains, underground system, suburban trains, buses and trams. There is also good access by car thanks to the motorway connection. It only takes 15 minutes to reach Stephansplatz by underground, and it takes less than 30 minutes to take a direct line to Vienna’s airport, which connects Vienna to the whole world. The extensive shopping and amenities in the 80 shops of the BahnhofCity shopping malls – which are also open on Sundays and public holidays and with particularly long opening hours – round off the list of advantages.
In addition to the good transport connections and the central location, BEL & MAIN Vienna also boasts proximity to parks and gardens: popular green oases in the city such as the Swiss Garden, the Belvedere Palace Garden and the Botanical Garden are within a few minutes’ walking distance. The wide range of cultural facilities, such as Belvedere 21, the Museum of Military History and Belvedere Palace, and a variety of restaurants – such as the impressive Rooftop Bar in the neighbouring Hotel Andaz Vienna Am Belvedere – further enhance the quality of life in the new district.
