The project BEL & MAIN Vienna stands out due to its striking, well-connected location within the "Vienna Central Railway Station" project, which is an important urban development project in the middle of the up-and-coming district "Quartier Belvedere". The new emerging city district "Quartier Belvedere" is directly adjacent to the large recreation areas of the Swiss Garden, Botanical Garden and Belvedere Garden and to the 3rd and 4th districts of Vienna.
BEL & MAIN Vienna is the result of a competition that was held in mid-2015 and whose winner was the entry of the renowned architectural firm Delugan Meissl Associated Architects. On the basis of this urban concept, one of the residential towers included in Coop Himmelb(l)au’s competition entry was subsequently integrated into the project, to create a coherent complex, taking into account the jury’s recommendations.
On a construction site of approx. 12,000 m² located directly adjacent to the Erste Bank Campus, a mixed-use building complex will be constructed. The project comprises more than 400 residential apartments and retail areas to provide for local amenities. Construction is scheduled to start at the beginning of 2018 and is aimed to be completed by Q4 2020.
