Since mid-July of 2018, Dr. Philipp Rossner has been the CSO of SIGNA Sports United. He is currently responsible for the Strategy, Business Development and M&A areas, as well as in charge of the strategic orientation of the group of companies. One of his main areas of focus is the consolidation of the individual companies in the areas of smart data, marketing, sales and logistics in order to continue to accelerate the growth course and to align the Group for further acquisitions. Prior to this, Rossner was the CEO of the Brands4Friends online shopping club after more than eleven years in various positions at eBay and the Boston Consulting Group.

Thomas Neumann

Thomas Neumann

Thomas Neumann has been the CTO of SIGNA Sports United since the start of July of 2018. He is regarded as the architect and developer of SIGNA Sports United’s platform technology and its online participations. As CTO, he is responsible for the state-of-the-art technology for continued international growth opportunities. Neumann has over 15 years of experience in the e-commerce field. He began his career as the Head of IT for the online division of Plus Warenhandelsgesellschaft. After that, he moved into the start-up sector, including for Rocket Internet. Most recently, he worked as a technology partner at a Swiss consulting firm.

Dr. Stephan Zoll

Dr. Stephan Zoll

Dr. Stephan Zoll has been the CEO of SIGNA Sports United since July 1st, 2018. He is internationally regarded as a leading e-commerce executive. With his know-how and network, he will continue to drive the European and international expansion of SIGNA Sports United forward. For many years, Dr. Zoll was the Managing Director of ebay in Germany and a member of ebay’s European top management. Most recently, the Hamburg-born manager worked as the Head of Online for the Sears retail group in the US.

Based on its strong market position, the Group continues to expand its strategic platform for various partners in the sports industry. Over 30 brand stores of leading bike, tennis, outdoor and team sport manufacturers are currently set up on the Group’s web stores. Within this framework, partners are free to design their brand presence, systematically promote products and obtain detailed customer data about visitors to their store.

In the sports sector, the expansion of strategic alliances with technology companies is being pursued consistently. To this end, the company founded the subsidiary SIGNA Sports United X, in which technological innovations are bundled to expand the platform into a digital sports ecosystem. A current example is the partnership with SportsTechX, which aside from the largest global database of SportsTech start-ups regularly publishes reports on the continued development of the international sports ecosystem.
