VIENNA TWENTYTWO – currently one of Vienna’s largest urban developments – will offer a wide range of advantages to its residents and visitors in future. These include an unobtrusive, clear and contemporary architecture created by the reputable Austrian architect team Delugan Meissl, first-class traffic connections, an optimally coordinated mix of building utilisations and numerous attractive recreation areas in the immediate vicinity.
The construction of the new quarter, situated in Vienna’s 22nd district, is proceeding apace – after construction of the building ensemble was started at the end of February 2019, around 100,000 m³ of material were removed in the course of the excavation. For the garage, the property was excavated to a depth of up to 12.5 metres. On September 25, 2019, the laying of the foundation stone for VIENNA TWENTYTWO was celebrated.
Varied mix of building utilisations and direct connection to local recreation areas
The project offers a broad range of building utilisations: apartments, offices, hotel facilities, restaurants, bars and demand-oriented local supplies as well as a direct connection to the nearby recreation areas Prater, Donauinsel, Donaupark and Alte Donau. The building ensemble, which is being implemented by joint venture partners SIGNA and ARE Development, consists of a total of six components and a connecting ground level zone at a central hub in the northern part of Vienna. With partly covered promenades, this area invites local residents and employees as well as hotel guests to go for a stroll and spend their leisure time.
Living and working with optimal transport connections
Around 600 attractive apartments are being created in VIENNA TWENTYTWO. The units feature upscale fittings and a large variety of apartment layouts thanks to intelligent blueprints. They represent a promising addition to Vienna’s housing market.
Tomorrow’s working environment is also finding a home in this urban quarter development. The unique location advantage, the innovative office solutions and the individually customisable office layouts are just some of the reasons why VIENNA TWENTYTWO will become a new hub in Vienna’s working world. A hotel featuring around 200 rooms across 11 floors adds to the mix of building utilisations in VIENNA TWENTYTWO.
Despite the excellent traffic connections – by car or public transport, it only takes 10 minutes to get to the city centre, 2 minutes to the Danube or 20 minutes to the airport – the central access area of VIENNA TWENTYTWO will remain free of traffic, which will significantly improve the quality of life.
Green-light for this high-rise construction is imminent
After the current excavation, the six building components will be built in two successive construction phases. The excavation work for VIENNA TWENTYTWO will be concluded in autumn 2019. After this, the parking garage with a total capacity of 500 parking spaces will be built. The main project will then be erected in the spring of 2020. After construction is completed, the buildings of VIENNA TWENTYTWO will be between 27 and 155 metres high. The entire project is planned to be concluded by 2023.
